Joshua Ang is an Associate with the law offices of Carlyon Cica, Chtd. He has extensive prior experience litigating a wide variety of cases in both state and federal courts, especially in the areas of Commercial/Business Litigation and Employment Law. He has represented businesses in virtually any manner of commercial dispute in litigation- including, but not limited to contract claims, privacy lawsuits, bankruptcies, defamation, false light, and various business-related torts. This is including, but not limited to, complex employment law matters (Title VII [Civil Rights Act of 1964] discrimination, retaliation, unpaid wages, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), etc.) and ERISA violations at the federal trial court level. Joshua's practice before joining Carlyon Cica, Chtd. primarily focused on high-stakes torts litigation in state and federal courts. He has experience on both sides of the aisle, having played significant roles in procuring high-value verdicts/awards on behalf of plaintiff-clients (including being part of the trial team that obtained a $160.5 million verdict in a complex brain injury matter in 2017), as well as in obtaining favorable outcomes and settlements in high-exposure matters on behalf of corporate defendant-clients. In addition to garden variety negligence and contracts torts, Joshua also possesses experience litigating matters implicating more exotic areas of law, such as worker's compensation tort immunity, insurance bad faith, diversity jurisdiction, product liability, Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), wrongful prosecution, and Qui Tam actions. Joshua has also worked on appellate matters in the Nevada Supreme Court, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
